Denise has taught piano for beginning, intermediate and advanced students for twenty nine years. She teaches technique, musicality and practicing skills from the very beginning of piano study. Denise encourages her students to think creatively and logically. Students develop their own goals for piano study.
Denise also has successfully taught students with a variety of learning differences including attention deficit disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, central auditory processing disorder, downs syndrome, dyslexia, and gifted. She completely enjoys learning with her students of all ages, abilities and learning styles!
Denise is completing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance and a Cognate in Music Education at the University of Cincinnati-College-Conservatory of Music. She also has a Graduate Orff-Schulwerk Certificate from the University of Kentucky and a Masters of Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where she studied organ and piano. Her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Bachelor of Music Education in Vocal Music K-12 are from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Denise is the Minister of Music at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church in Owensboro, Kentucky.
